In a few days I have to talk, to give a talk, about design and user experience to some of my colleagues.
This makes me somewhat uncomfortable. I enjoy doing design and discussing specific problems, but I dislike talking about the general parts of it.
Like many things user experience (UX) has become a buzzword with associated buzzword constellation of CX, HCD, design thinking, design doing, service design and such terms. They have their meaning for sure, but I feel that buzzwords can inhibit good thinking. They make us think we know when we actually don’t know. And they might lead us to seemingly easy, but impractical answers.
So I will try to distill ideas beyond buzzwords and see if I can communicate my understanding in simple language.
If the talk comes out interesting, I will share the ideas here.
