They have more ideas than they can execute.
Whenever I read about someone who is known to make great things , say, Leonardo da Vinci, I find that they had much, much more in mind than they offered to the world.
Many startup CEOs have 5 to 10 year roadmaps in their head, even if today they are not building those features (and maybe they won’t build those in the future either).
It’s okay to have ideas which you do not implement. Every fresh idea expands your mind. It is as important to know what to not do, as it is to know what to do. Probably more important.
This reminds me of an interesting quote by Louis C.K.
If you’re older, you’re smarter. I just believe that. If you’re in an argument with someone older than you, you should listen to ’em … even if they’re wrong, their wrongness is rooted in more information than you have.
Here, I would replace ‘old’ with ‘people with more ideas’.
